We’re looking for a Marketing Intern to join our team. The Marketing Intern will support the entire Marketing Team to support with social media, blog writing, website development, public relations strategies, product marketing, and contribute to strategic initiatives through developing, growing, optimizing, and maintaining marketing channels.
 Responsibilities: 
  • Social Media Support
  • Assist in creating social media content including content, graphics, and videos for social media platforms including Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, LinkedIn, etc.
  • Monitor social media channels, engage with followers, and respond to inquiries/comments with pre-approved language.
  • Blog Writing:
    • Contribute to the development of blog content ideas.
    • Research and write blog posts on relevant topics within the industry.
    • Optimize blog posts for SEO and audience engagement.
  • Website Development:
    • Collaborate with the Marketing Team to update and maintain the company website.
    • Assist in creating and editing website content, landing pages, and product/service descriptions.
  • Assist with student-facing strategies and coordinate with the Ascent team to generate interest in our products and programs.
    • Research and recommend new benefits for students.
    • Review existing campaigns, give feedback, and make recommendations.
Additional Information:
  • You will participate in training during the first two weeks to meet our team and gain a knowledge base to draw upon throughout the remainder of your internship and beyond.
  • Compensation – Interns receive a competitive salary of $14-16.00 per hour.
  • Experience with Executives:
    • At the end of the internship, the intern will develop a 30-minute pitch/presentation to Ascent Executives of one core idea for Ascent that they developed during the internship.
  • This position reports to the Head of Brand and Product Marketing.
Minimal Qualifications:
  • Must be available to work for at least 15 hours a week during business hours. This internship will be hybrid with one day a week in the Houston office.
  • Must be available to work for at least six months.
  • We prefer a student that is studying, or has studied, marketing, advertising/PR, communications, telecommunications, advertising art, web design, or equivalent relevant major.
  • Must have excellent organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to prioritize in a changing environment.
  • Must have excellent interpersonal skills.
  • Leadership qualities and potential.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, Internet Research and PowerPoint is required.
  • Experience in marketing with WordPress, Canva, Google Analytics, and social media is a plus.
  • Ability to learn other software programs.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills required.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
