Description

We are seeking a Lending Product Operations Associate who will play a central role on the Career Training and Trade School Team, in managing cross-functional initiatives, supporting product implementation, and driving operational improvements. The Career Training and Trade School Loans team builds products that enable access to vocational programs with strong career outcomes. These programs are typically not eligible for federal financial aid, and students have limited options for funding these programs which are gateways to economic mobility. This role sits on a small, tight knit team with shared responsibilities and support. This role blends product support, project coordination, and day-to-day business operations, providing broad exposure to multiple areas of the company. You’ll work with internal teams and external partners to ensure smooth execution of initiatives while continuously optimizing processes. We’re seeking a candidate who is looking to grow and develop into a key player on the Career Loan team.  

Responsibilities:
Product Support & Operations (40%)

  • Assist in the implementation of new loan products and student support services, including documentation and operational setup.
  • Become an internal product expert on our Career Products.  Support management of product guidelines, product disclosures, and partner-facing materials.
  • Assist with resolution of customer and partner complaints, escalating issues as needed and driving continuous process improvements.
  • Monitor product and service performance, flagging operational risks and opportunities for optimization.
  • Support team standardization by helping to create Standard of Process documentation and support systems for out of office back up.
  • Work closely with our Impact Products – supporting products that increase access to higher education.
  • Collaborate with marketing to update and maintain key product and partnership web pages.
  • Assist in preparation of internal product training and partner onboarding materials.
Project Management (30%)
  • Coordinate key cross-functional projects, ensuring alignment across Product, Engineering, Operations, and Compliance.
  • Track project milestones, manage tasks in ClickUp, and drive accountability to timelines.
  • Facilitate team check-ins, maintain project status reports, and assist in project documentation.
  • Support product rollout activities including internal testing and operational readiness.
Partner Support (30%)
  • Build positive working relationships with partner schools and external vendors.
  • Fulfill partner requests for program updates and changes.
  • Support onboarding activities for new schools and partners.
  • Support behind the scenes operations management, cross training on loan administration activities.
  • Help coordinate partner reporting and respond to partner data and operational requests.
  • Serve as back up for Account Manager.

Minimum Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in business, Communications, Education, or related field.
  • 3-8 years of professional experience spanning product support, project management, or business operations.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills; high attention to detail.
  • Comfort working across multiple teams and managing both projects and recurring operational tasks.
  • Experience working in a startup; SaaS, fintech, edtech, or consumer finance environment preferred.
  • Ability to analyze data to identify trends and areas for improvement.

Bonus points if you have:
  • Experience with financial products or regulated environments.
  • Experience in Higher Education, traditional or non-traditional (vocational)
  • Familiarity with website CMS tools (e.g., WordPress) and basic content updates.
  • Familiarity with Project Management Tools (e.g. Clickup), and CRM tools (e.g., HubSpot).
  • Exposure to complaint handling processes or regulatory complaint management.
  • Agile or PMP certification.
